It is with sincere and deep sadness we report that Carolyn Bernal, wife of John Bernal, passed away shortly before 6PM on 10/01/2007 at Putnam Community Hospital. Carolyn fell Saturday evening at her home in Bedford Hills. She was rushed to the hospital unconscious. Her family was at her side, throughout the sad and tremendously rough ordeal. Chaplain Sonny Cohen of PNWFPA, provided significant comfort to the family. Somers FD Chief Bobby Totten stayed beside the family at the hospital since Saturday evening. He was, and continues to be, a tremendous help to John and the family.      Carolyn is survived by five children, and ten or more grandchildren. She was an Associate Member of the Somers Vol. FD., Putnam Valley FD, a member of the PNWFPA, and Honorary Member of the WCVFA. Clarks Funeral Home in Katonah is working with the family at this time. Please keep John and his family in your prayers of support. One night's wake is being held for family only. A firematic Memorial Service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 6th at St. Luke's Church, Route 100 & Route 202, Somers, for Carolyn. Uniform requested. Reception following at the Somers Firehouse.
