Aldo J. Ceconi

 

     Aldo J. Ceconi passed away on December 30, 2007 at Phelps Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ceconi was born in North Tarrytown on Gory Brook Road on October 23, 1927 to the late Clara and James Ceconi.

     Upon graduation from North Tarrytown High School in 1945 he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his discharge from the Marines, he became a bricklayer, joining his father and brother Eugene who were members of the Allied Craftworkers, Local #27. For many years he worked with the Doria Construction Company in Valhalla, retiring in 1990.

     He was a 58 year member of the Columbia Hose Company #3 of the Sleep Hollow Fire Department, a WCVFA Senior Member, and was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1042 and Aerie # 3694 in Lake Worth, Florida. His favorite hobbies were golf and gardening. On August 24, 1952 he married Joan Lyons at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Sleepy Hollow. Besides his wife Joan, he is survived by four children: Kevin of Sleepy Hollow, Kenneth of Stone Mountain, GA., Lizanne (Ken) Grispin of Summit, NJ, and Richard (Patricia) Ceconi of New Milford, CT. as well as three grandchildren: Nicoleta and John Ceconi and Casey Joan Grispin. He leaves behind his brother Walter and sisters Irene Zegarelli of Sleepy Hollow and Edith Fratta of Hartsdale. Aldo was predeceased by his brother Eugene and his sister Jennie.

     Visitation will be on Wed. from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME INC. in Tarrytown. His Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM on Thurs. at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Sleepy Hollow. His interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
