Herman C. Hauprich

 

 

     Herman Hauprich, age 85, of Sun City Bluffton SC, passed away on Sunday March 2,2008. He was born on April 14, 1922, in Albany, NY.  He was the son of the late Herman Carl, Sr. and Hazel Foster Hauprich. 

     He was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bluffton.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served on P.T. boat No. 185 in the South Pacific.  He was a retired engineer of the New York Central Railroad, Conrail and Amtrak.  He was also a former chief of Croton-on-Hudson Volunteer Fire Department, and a Life Member of Croton Fire Patrol #1,  and a member of the Sun City Woodworkers Club who made toys for various charities. He was also a Life Member of WCVFA.

     He is survived by his wife, Marilyn B. Hauprich of Bluffton; two daughters, Linda J. (Morgan) Denny of Columbia, and Susan L. (David) Bender of Huntsville, Ala.; one brother, Donald R. Hauprich of Albany, N.Y.; one sister, Rita Roney of Fort Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren, David B. (Michelle) Denny, Timothy S. Denny, and Christopher J. Denny; and one great-grandson, Colin D. Denny.
