Bernard A. Hoffman, 84, of Hastings-on-Hudson died April 15, 2009. He was born in West Hempstead, L.I. to Frank and Rita Hoffman. He entered the US Army in 1943, 3rd Army 20th Armoured Division, serving in the European Theater. On July 3, 1949, he married Lillian Nelson. Bernie was the owner of the Hastings House Restaurant for 44 years. He was a member of the F.A.S.N.Y., NYSAFC, 44 year Life Member of WCVFA, HVVFA and Westchester County Parade Judges Association. He was also the past Chief of the Hastings-on-Hudson Hook & Ladder #1 and was the Westchester County Deputy Fire Coordinator for 21 years. Bernie was also a member of the James Daly VFW Post 200 and the Hastings American Legion. He was survived by his wife Lillian, sons Charles (Gail) and Steven, daughters Tish (Stephen) Mosiello and daughter Janet Labarbera (Frank), nine grand children and one great-grandson.
