John "Jake" Honovich, 86, died October 24, 2007. A lifelong resident of Hastings-on-Hudson. Jake was the son of the late Harry and Pauline (Kot) Honovich. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe. In 1950, he married Irene Tiedemann. Jake was a 64 year member and former Captain of the Hastings-on-Hudson Volunteer Fire Department, Hook and Ladder Company, a Senior Member with the WCVFA, and a retiree of Anaconda Wire and Cable Co. He is survived by his children, John (Rose) Honovich, Jr., Doreen (Christopher) Masopust and Jacqueline Warner; his grandchildren, Brian and Patrick Shelley and Stephen and Jennifer Honovich and a brother, Walter. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene; a daughter, Lois McGarr and brothers, William and Michael. Mass of the Resurrection 9:45 am, Saturday, St. Matthew's R.C., Hastings-on-Hudson.
