Neil Slack, 93, a long time Ardsley resident died November 15, 2010. Neil was born in Bogata, Il to Elsworth and Grace Slack. He served in the US Navy from 1936 to 1945. On November 18, 1944 Neil married Julia Baranowski at St. Valentine's Church in the Bronx. Julia died in 1993. Neil worked for the Town of Greenburgh as the Fire Marshal. He retired in 1986. He was a life member and Ex-Chief of the Ardsley Engine Co. #1.  Neil spent winters in Lake Havasu City, Az. He was a member of the American Legion Post 458, Ardsley and VFW Post 9401 in Lake Havasu, Az.      Neil is survived by his daughters; Jane ( Joe) Marsek, Joan Daly, Stephanie Slack and Peggy Decoster (Lee), 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his long time companion Mary Ellen Saunders.
